When Wes Welker was traded from Miami to New England prior to the 2007 season, he went from football hell to football heaven.
Basically, Welker morphed into a methamphetamine-powered version of Wayne Chrebet. But has life really been better in the Belichick Union?
Let’s take a look:
- The Dolphins are still the only team to go undefeated and win a Super Bowl, while the Pats were forced to settle with a cheap imitation.
- The Dolphins have replaced Welker twice already. First, it was Greg Camarillo. When Camarillo’s knee imploded, Davone Bess — who, by all accounts, played flag football at resort college — was easily plugged in.
- Before the knee injury, Camarillo made Miami’s most historic catch of the decade, staving off an 0-16 season. It could of been you, Wes. Instead, you got a hollow run at history.
- Outside of 2007, the Dolphins and Pats have split during the regular season. Prior to Sunday, however, Welker had never lost to the Dolphins in South Beach. As evidenced in the video below, he didn’t take it in stride.
