Captain Rebuilding Year just had an epiphany…He’s sick of rebuilding. The Chiefs haven’t been good since Marty Ball was in town and Tony Gonzalez has apparently had enough of it. From Yahoo:
“I want to see who they name as head coach,” Gonzalez said. “Yeah, I hear they’re talking to Todd Haley, but then there’s this coach [Ferentz] from Iowa State, some [expletive] like that and I don’t want to deal with that. It seems like we’re rebuilding anyway, and I don’t want to do that. I don’t know that I want to do that any more than I already have been.”
Tony G also wanted to let fans know that he wasn’t abandoning the team (even though he was abandoning the team). In related news, Larry Johnson wants out of KC as well. I say trade them both. There’s nothing worse for an NFL locker room than players that don’t want to be there. Stockpile draft picks, drop the cap space and add younger players who don’t whine to the media every week about how awful the team is.
Love,
Barry Word
