Excuse Me Bill Simmons, I Already Had Dibs On That Joke

Bill Simmons
Seriously, dude. Take a new picture.

Oh wow, look I get to block quote myself.

From this post on Jan. 3rd, regarding Matt Millen’s appearance on NBC:

WHAT IN THE MOTHERFUCK IS THIS FUCKING IDIOT DOING ON MY TV AND WHY IS HE DISCUSSING PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL, A TOPIC OF WHICH HE KNOWS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT??!!?!?!11?1!??!! WHAT’S NEXT NBC?? MAD MONEY BRINGING IN BERNIE MADOFF AS A GUEST INVESTMENTS ANALYST???

And from Simmons’s most recent article on ESPN:

The Bernie Madoff Award for “Studio host who made you feel as if you were watching Bernie Madoff hosting ‘Mad Money’”
Like everyone else, I did a quintuple take upon seeing that NBC had trotted out failed Lions GM Matt Millen as one of its pregame studio guys. Like everyone else, I was confused about what NBC thought my reaction should be — should I be nodding intently as Millen broke down the Cards-Falcons game and saying, “That’s a great point, Guy Who Single-Handedly Murdered The Lions?” Like everyone else, I felt bad for Detroit fans, who had just put the 0-16 season behind them and probably looked forward to a pain-free playoffs … and suddenly, there was the John Wilkes Booth of their franchise staring at them in HD.

Clearly, this was in no way a coincidence and Bill Simmons is obviously trolling through our archives looking for new material. In fact, I have a scoop for you. Simmons’s stole my entire act, except he camouflaged it with punchlines, and to really throw people off, he did it before I did.*
