I like Tony Gonzalez, former recipient of the above Life-Size Lifetime Chiefs Offensive Player Award, but c’mon, Thigpen won his first game as the Kansas City Chief’s starting QB just last week. Let’s hold off just a little longer before we annoint him the team’s Steve Deberg of the future.
From Rotoworld:
Tony Gonzalez says it would be a “disgrace” if Tyler Thigpen isn’t Kansas City’s quarterback in 2009. Easy there. The second-year QB deserves every chance to keep his job, but he’s had a great schedule and the Chiefs can’t put all their eggs in one Thigpen. Gonzalez’s words carry a lot of weight in Kansas City; the support of the locker room can’t hurt Thigpen’s chances of starting in 2009.
