Tim Wakefield’s old-man-ass trudged onto the mound last night against the Rays, becoming the soonest-to-expire-hurler to start an ALCS game.
With an above average amount of humidity — 75 percent — massaging Boston, Wake’s knuckler should have been teaching dance lessons to Red Sox Snowflake Nation.
But that wasn’t quite the case.
Willie Aybar and Carl Crawford were the ones getting down, do-si-do’ing around the basepaths like Kenny Rogers does every Wednesday at Ponderosa.
Wake didn’t look good in the process, earning him a new moniker: “The Unnatural.”
And, as luck would have it, I queued up a video to accompany the unveiling of the name.
Enjoy, and remember that nobody does it like The Suave.
