Not being an ardent follower of track, I wasn’t exactly prepped on the men’s 400m race.
But one thing was very clear: Jeremy Wariner and LaShawn Merritt were not friends.
Wariner looks like he pirated his persona from Eminem, while Merritt oozes the confidence of a prize fighter — which is not expected from someone that runs around in a circle. ESPN will probably jump at the movie rights to this one, casting Mark Wahlberg as Wariner and Tyrese as Merritt.
What all that said, I was still enticed to see the rivalry play out.
Well, it was worth it.
After Merritt completely smoked Wariner, the drama burst through the floodgates
