One has to laugh at you quoting 1 barr he spit when lately he’s been droppin flames, the mixtape was heat and the fact he has 25+ years behind him speaks to his ability, you named people like Pac and Biggie who both in interviews described LL Cool J as one of the top 5 they came up listening to, the fact he can pull off doing the love songs, the pop ish, the street ish also speaks to his abilities, how many Rappers have tried to make a Love song since he did it, everyone, everysingle Rapper has tried that why because as much as cats wanna hate, they know it’s what women wanna hear, and his albums have all been versatile in terms of track listing, it isnt a case of all his shits soft when joints like Radio, To the break of Dawn, Mama said knock you out, and recently Who want it with the G.O.A.T of his latest mixtape, pretty much single handed built def jam, and therefore the foundations of most your favourite artists, nah id say his Legacy is in very good shape could be better, but aint like he’s in his 70s where talking a 4o year old with 25+ years of musical hits and 30+ movies in his portfolio, plus the other shit like fubu……

I’ve read enough.I think its funny how there’s many posts about someone who every keeps referring to as irrelevant.You say LL hasn’t been relevant in years but then you’d probably put Rakim ahead of LL, or KRS ahead of LL as if anyone can name the last time either of those guys were relevant.I also think its funny that someone mentioned LL’s ’singles’ as examples of falling off. Not one mention of an album cut. Just because a record is created for radio doesn’t mean the artist fell off. Funnier is the fact that LL “isn’t relevant” but all those records named; headspring, Hush etc. were hits.LL many not be your favorite rapper but when he says he’s the GOAT he’s only speaking the truth.LL’s first four albums or consensus classics. Some say he stumbled with 14 Shots but was right back with Mr. Smith. That’s 5 Classics. That’s a 1 Wack album every 12 year average…Not Lame my people.If LL would have retired after Mr. Smith he would have 6 consecutive Platinum LPs. Would people still complain about this GOAT thing?probably. Because haters hate and they’d say Biggie was the greatest because he put out 2 great albums. Doesn’t make much sent to me.So what if he doesn’t sell like he used to. Who does? But he’s more than relevant. He’s LL Cool j. He’s a household name. The blogger admits that LL is in the Top spot on hot 97 but then the hatred takes over and we get allusion toward some sort of conspiracy theory. Hi Hater. No one likes Baby? Go to You Tube right now and see how many people don’t like it. Another hit 24 years after his debut and he can’t call himself the GOAT? Why the hell not?What’s funny is LL is the format. He invented the formula for selling records in hiphop and is a major factor in hiphop becoming the biggest genre of music around.So again. His stats speak for theirself. Just because he’s the greatest doesn’t mean he has to be your favorite rapper, just respect what the man has done and why he calls himself that.

LL may be one of the best, but the reason KRS isn’t “relevant” is because his style is named “consciousness.” While he may have had a few beats show up in clubs, that was never KRS’s style. LL has always been more pop oriented, and has been one of the better pop-oriented rappers, but no great full-length album in some time cries out “has been”

I agree with the BURIER. LL had said that he was not trying to be a lyrical assassin on the track…Just something fun for the clubs. Why dont yall haters check the stats…Name one rapper who has been constistantly making records that are Platinum and Gold for the last 20. End of story
