So you’re telling me you think you have what it takes to manage a major league ballclub. Ok, fine. Let’s test your knowledge of in-game strategy. It’s the 15th inning. The game is tied 1-1. You’re at home. Who do you send out to face Detroit’s 4-5-6 hitters in the top of the 15th?:
a) lefty specialist Arthur Rhodes
b) Brendan Morrow and his 0.65 ERA
c) Tuesday’s starter Carlos Silva
d) Cy Young candidate R.A. Dickey, who is a knuckleballer therefore can pretty much throw whenever needed
e) backup catcher Jamie Burke
Don’t worry Jim Riggleman. I went ahead and contacted Kinko’s and canceled the order you placed last week for the new business cards that had the ‘interim’ prefix removed.

In all fairness, Morrow had pitched 4 of the last five, Arthur Rhodes had a sprained labia majora, and Riggleman wanted to wait for the next game to let Silva fuck t all up.
Kudos to Burke, though… Kinda cool to watch a guy walk from behind the plate to the mound and warm up. He has a better arm than half of the M’s 2007 rotation….

Rhodes has been battling LM issues for some time now. He should probably go see Dr. James Andrews about that.

Ahh, the underused “miscarriage” instead of “abortion” rule. When referring to something thats so bad but not horrifically bad, use miscarriage.
Nice work, rule in tact.

Seriously, the offical reason given for Rhodes not being brought n is that he slept funny and his arm felt weird. Seriously.
I’m just going to blame it on Bavasi.

Great report form larrybrownsports.com . Ichiro, Adrian Beltre and Willie (The Spork) Bloomquist all volunteered to pitch. Jim Riggleman must have felt like a little league coach.

I guess it shows that Riggleman would rather Burke throw out a shoulder than any of those other guys….
