I have to be honest, today could very well end up being one of those days where I cut off the interest level of 98% of our readers decide to talk about my teams specifically. Do you really want to read another post about how to fix the MLB star game? Fine. Don’t vote in Varitek, don’t make the game count for anything, and eliminate having a rep from each team as if it were little league. And yes, trading for an incumbent Cy Young winner in the midst of a playoff race is probably a good move, especially since you will compensated with draft picks if he signs elsewhere.
Anyway, back to what’s important, the teams I root for. Stars captain and apparent weekly radio talk show host, Brenden Morrow, had this to say about the Stars’ recent signing:
“I have said ‘hate,’ and I imagine if we wouldn’t have signed him, I would have said I still hate him. But he’s a teammate now, and I’ll admit that I don’t really know him other than what I see on the ice. So now we need to get to know each other and work together as teammates.”
Now, besides having to find a Dallas area spank bank, Avery will now also have to win over the captain of his new team. What an awesome way to kick off an era with a new team. That said, I’m still cautiously optimistic about the upcoming season. Oh and also, fuck the Red Wings.
