Watching Plaschke take time off from writing one sentence paragraphs to hijack the set of a pancreatic cancer PSA and spittle his way through this godawful plea to Elton Brand asking him to stay with the Clippers has caused me to break the mute button from my Around The Horn: The Home Edition game.
Points of interest:
1. If the LA Times were building a dreamteam-esque staff of truly insufferable sports writers and say, offered Jay Mariotti some ridiculous deal and in turn the Chicago Sun-Times offered Plaschke substantially more money than the LA Times initially had, Plaschke would turn his back L.A. in millisecond. (And what a truly godforsaken world this would be.)
2. LA is not Elton Brand’s home. He may live there, but it’s not his home.
3. Instead not inSTEED.
4. Likening Brand to Pierce is not only playing on the emotions of fans douchebaggery cheap shot, it’s also not a viable comparison. First of all, how many times was Pierce brought up in trade rumors where the C’s were trying to ship him out. Second, Kevin Garnett & Ray Allen >>> Baron Davis. Davis plays one 82 game season (in a contract year) over the last six years and all sudden he’s the Clippers messiah? To me the addition of Baron Davis still leaves the Clips as 7th or 8th seed at best.
5. Isolated screen shots are funny.

Boy, that’s some nice objective reporting there, Bill. From now on, I will reference this video every time a journalist from the print media alludes to their superiority to blogs. This is worse than the Leave Britany Alone video.

Elton Brand should just come back to Peekskill.
He can commute to The Garden with me.

Why is Plaschke talking to Elton Brand like the guy who used to say “Sit, Ubu, Sit” after my Saturday morning cartoons? While OK for dogs, teaching a human beings like Elton Brand to “Stay” is somewhat offensive.
