The draft is shaping up. It looks like the Knicks won’t get a chance at OJ Mayo or Jerryd Bayless. So why not the most athletic player in the draft. Tell me this guy won’t thrive in D’Antoni’s system…
Do It Knicks!!!

I’ve been watching this guy in the Pac-10. His highlight reel stuff is impressive, and he moves well without the ball, but do my beloved Knicks really need another slightly undersized guy who doesn’t really know how to play in a system?

If you love the Knicks he is. The most attractive thing about Westbrook is his defense. While he is only 6-3, his enormous wingspan allows him to defend 6-7, 6-8 guys. So that allays some of the concern over his height. He should be a dynamic defender the first time he steps on the court.
He is somewhat raw offensively, but very explosive and unselfish. He is only 19 and his game is still developing, but the incredible tools and a really strong work ethic should help him get where he needs to be.
My Knicks board right now would look like this-
1. Rose
2. Beasley
3. Bayless
4. Mayo
5. Westbrook
6. Augustin
7. Alexander
8. Gallinari
9. Randolph
10. Gordon

345. Brook Lopez
346. Robin Lopez

If Mario spent some time in the NBDL, he might be a viable 2…..
