With the news that his contract has been bought out by the Toronto Raptors, I’d like to formally extend an invitation to former Raptors big man Jorge Garbajosa to join the other side project that’s near and dear to my heart, my Dexy’s Midnight Runners tribute band, Johnny Ray & The Toora Loo-Rye-Ayes. We meet every Wednesday night above Dreamy Phill’s Delicatessen And Bodega from 9:15 until 10:30. We had a falling out with our previous singer over residuals about three months ago and we think you’d be a perfect replacement. And don’t worry if you can’t carry a tune, we’re more about aesthetics anyway. All you’d need to bring is a pair of highwater overalls and some sort of neckerchief. We’ll provide the rest. We hope to hear from you soon Jorge. We have a gig on July 12th so I’ll post a video below if you’d like to familiarize yourself with some Kevin Rowland’s best dance moves before then.
