I keep hearing all this nonsense about how Manny Ramirez is poised to have this massive season, not because he’s in a contract year, or even because Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia playing full time improves what was already one of the better lineups in baseball, but because he was given “The Power Of Positive Thinking” to read in the offseason, as if his numbers would look any different had he been given that book, Finnegan’s Wake, Everyone Poops, or the December issue of Highlights magazine.
