With rumors going around that the Giants have minimal or no interest in moving Jeremy Shockey, I can only think to myself, why? I’m not trying to take shots at Shockey or even marginalize his overall talent on the field. However, how vital to a team can a player be, when, without his services, said team won three road playoff games and defeated an 18-0 juggernaut in the Super Bowl? Kevin Boss is not anywhere near Jeremy Shockey in terms of talent or production, but if he’s good enough to help you win a championship, then it could be in the Giants’ best interest to move Shockey, if they can get a second or third rounder for him, considering after free agency, their holes at linebacker and safety became much more pressing needs than depth at tight end. They should at least contact the Falcons (who just let Alge Crumpler walk) and try to resurrect the earlier rumored deal that had D’Angelo Hall going to New York.
