Bigger Choke Job: ’07 Pats or ’04 Yankees?

Posted by Shakespeare DiMaggio · February 4th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I can freely admit that I am a Jets and Mets fan, so both of these situations delighted me. I don’t think there is an easy answer to this question. The Yankees created a monster by letting the Sox back into the ALCS in ’04. Saying the the Yankees had the Sox with their backs against the wall would be an understatement. There was good and bad to the Sox victory though, as thousands of new Sox fans crawled out of the woodwork and jumped onto a bandwagon that has been rolling ever since.

But the bandwagon stalled yesterday. As New Englanders reveled in their new-found “unstopableness”, one of the wheels fell off. Has their ever been a bigger favorite than the ’07 Pats? Has their ever been a less clutch QB than Eli Manning? Well, we all got a first hand look at what happens when a dynasty ends.

Thoughts?

Even before the Superbowl, there were plenty of QBs “less clutch” than Eli.

Mets had a quality choke last season themselves…
