Shaun Alexander made an appearance on Seattle’s KJR-AM this morning and had some interesting things to say. Shaun averaged 3.5 YPC this year, was relegated to a job share and makes 4.5 million in ’08. The Seahawks are an excellent team and if Shaun was willing to spread that money out over the years, maybe one or two free agents could be what Seattle needs to get back to the Super Bowl. Shaun believes the Seahawks are “Too classy for that.” According to Shaun, “You don’t really do that with your foundation people. You do that with the people you aren’t sure about.” Unfortunately for Alexander, no one has let him know that he isn’t a core guy anymore. Another misnomer, that it doesn’t make sense to restructure your contract. Tom Brady and Michael Strahan have recently restructured their contracts so their teams could sign better free agents. Where did that get them? Oh yeah, the Super Bowl.
