Ryan Church: The Mets’ New Rightfielder and Anti-Semite

November 30th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Does anyone remember this? Back in 2005, Ryan Church was quoted on the front page of the Washington post, alluding that Jews were doomed to Hell. His exact quote, “”I said, like, Jewish people, they don’t believe in Jesus. Does that mean they’re doomed? Jon nodded, like, that’s what it meant. My ex-girlfriend! I was like, man, if they only knew. Other religions don’t know any better. It’s up to us to spread the word,” Church said. (Jon being the team’s Chaplain)

Not only did the Mets’ trade Lastings Milledge for 20 cents on the dollar, one of the players they are getting back is an intolerant Fundamental Christian. This should go over great in New York.

Ryan Church. So it’s not just a clever name.
